Job summary

The State Board of Administration of Florida is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to oversee Treasury and Cash Management duties for SBA. You will analyze daily account activity, forecast cash needs, and support settlement of internal trading.

You will also validate cash movements, coordinate with custodians and brokers, ensure data integrity across systems, and contribute to Florida PRIME operations with monthly statements.

Job description

The Investment Operations Analyst is responsible for Treasury and Cash Management functions at the SBA. These include analyzing the daily account activity for each of the assigned SBA accounts and independently forecasting the daily cash requirements for investment. Analyst decisions on cash investment figures have a monetary impact upon the Board.

The Analyst is also key in the daily settlement of all internal trading activity for the SBA. The Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely settlement for trades in assigned accounts and for resolving exceptions. This position is responsible for the processes to ensure all trades are properly confirmed, transmitted to the custodial bank, and posted to the internal portfolio system. Further, this position monitors trade settlement each afternoon and is responsible for resolving any failing settlements coordinating with the custodial banks, brokers, counterparties, and internal trading staff.

The Analyst is an authorized signatory with all custodial and commercial banks and is responsible for validating and processing all cash movements for the assigned accounts including movements for Legal dealings and regulatory requirements. The Analyst is also responsible for authorizing and directing any trade changes or any changes to the book of record.

This position is responsible for independently identifying and coordinating resolution of reconciliation discrepancies through communication with Fund Managers, Traders, Accountants and Custodian Banks. The employee must ensure data integrity in multiple systems. This position requires a thorough knowledge of various security types and markets the SBA invests including the trading life cycle, derivatives, and security regulations.
