Job summary

Flagstar Bank is seeking a Financial Consultant to retain and expand customer relationships and to solicit new retail investment and insurance business. You will craft customized investment strategies aligned with client goals, time horizons, and risk tolerance, while coaching retail bankers and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes proactive client engagement, paperwork accuracy, and collaboration across branches to grow the investment book and service levels.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalence (GED/HiSET/TASC) or foreign equivalent.
• 2+ years of retail sales experience.
• Licenses: Life, Health and Accident; Series 7; Series 63 and/or Series 66; and Variable Annuity.
• If not held at time of hire, licenses must be obtained within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers or prospects to discuss financial needs and outline suitable financial products.
• Lead and coach a team of retail bank licensed bankers in investment sales with training, planning and daily support.
• Process all paperwork timely and maintain compliant investment business; stay current with communications and deadlines.
• Schedule appointments via calls to existing and prospective customers; prepare presentations for calls and coach bankers on prospecting.
• Use independent judgment to make decisions and analyze and resolve problems.
