Job summary

Heritage Wealth Advisors is seeking an Investment Associate to join our investment team in Pittsburgh. This 2–3 year rotational role offers broad exposure across the full investment platform — public and private markets, portfolio management, and implementation — with meaningful responsibility from the start.

You will work alongside experienced investment professionals and contribute directly to research, portfolio management, trading, reporting, and platform operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in investment management, financial services, consulting, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort organizing, analyzing, and manipulating financial data.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in and exposure to public and private markets.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and commitment to quality.
  • Financial modeling experience and familiarity with portfolio or research systems (e.g., FactSet, YCharts, Tamarac, or similar) are a plus.
  • Progress toward the CFA charter is viewed favorably.

Responsibilities

  • Research public markets and contribute to analysis of securities, strategies, managers, and trends.
  • Evaluate private investments through manager research, due diligence, and monitoring.
  • Support portfolio management and implementation with growing responsibility for trading and client portfolios.
  • Analyze portfolios and performance for reporting and materials used by the team and advisors.
  • Prepare analyses and materials to support sophisticated clients including families and institutions.
  • Build fluency across investment platforms, models, and data resources.
