Job summary

The City of Charlotte Transportation Department is seeking a Warehouse & Inventory Support role to assist the Inventory & Warehouse Coordinator with daily tasks. You will help manage receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring stock levels and records are accurate while upholding safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, warehouse experience, and basic computer skills; CDL/permit requirements vary by position and may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Warehouse experience (inventory control, warehouse procedures).
• General computer use (including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Valid Driver License.
• Ability to obtain a city driving permit.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and work orders; assist field crews with material planning.
• Use Workday to issue requisitions and create purchase orders.
• Monitor stock levels and notify staff when inventory is low.
• Maintain electronic inventory records and update systems.
• Receive and verify incoming deliveries; report discrepancies promptly.
• Coordinate placement of received shipments and maintain orderly warehouse areas.
• Issue work orders to restock materials and assemble items as needed.
• Perform warehouse/inventory functions at primary and satellite locations.
