Job summary

Responsibilities include inspecting items, organizing stock, and ensuring compliance with purchase regulations. The position requires lifting and operating warehouse equipment, with a focus on efficient, safe warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• Education directly related to the minimum requirements may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• High school diploma or GED required; two (2) years experience in warehouse or central store operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Order, purchase and receive materials and parts; ensure billing numbers match and keep records.
• Issue or deliver parts, tools and materials to City departments; maintain stock in warehouse and verify purchase rules.
• Move and reorganize material in warehouse to accommodate new stock and survey inventories.
• Assist other departments in material ordering; handle mail and designated data; answer phones as required.
• Inspect parts for damage and quantity; report discrepancies; rotate stock and maintain area.
• Maintain and clean assigned warehouse area; remove obsolete items and prepare for auction.
• Operate warehouse equipment and vehicles; perform routine maintenance and report repairs.
