Job summary

City of Charlotte is seeking an Inventory Supervisor for the Charlotte Water Department to oversee four warehouses, manage parts, supplies and tools, and handle Cityworks/Workday transactions. The role includes ensuring accurate inventory records, managing contracts, and coordinating with procurement and field operations.

The position requires strong leadership, safety compliance, and ability to work overtime or on-call as needed. Experience with Cityworks/Workday a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of Field Operations inventory and monitor daily levels.
• Manage water inventory account and coordinate ordering of parts and supplies.
• Oversee master inventory records and verify daily transactions in Cityworks Storeroom.
• Direct daily workflow of stockrooms and ensure staff understand duties.
• Develop and manage weekly standby schedules and staffing across stockrooms.
• Oversee field operations parts, materials, and uniform contracts including purchases and rentals.
• Lead year-end inventory counts and reconcile purchases with City auditors.
• Collaborate with Procurement on RFPs/ITBs and supplier selection.
