Job summary

CVR Energy, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Volumetric Accountant to reconcile inventory across company-owned and third-party locations, ensuring accurate records and timely financial reporting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 2+ years of related experience (energy industry preferred), and strong reconciliation, analytical, and communication skills. Knowledge of ETRM systems is a plus, with a focus on process improvement and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 2+ years related experience required.
• Energy industry experience preferred.
• Experience with Right Angle’s ETRM strongly preferred.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile inventory balances with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze pipeline tickets, terminal reports, rail reports and refinery tank balances.
• Prepare and record journal entries for accruals and volumetric activity.
• Monitor take-or-pay contracts and related activity to identify volume shortfalls.
• Research and resolve BOL matching issues that result in inventory discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks.
• Collaborate with yield accounting, operations, billing, commercial and marketing.
• Maintain clear documentation of procedures and exceptions.
• Work on special projects as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to inventory controls.
