Job summary

CVR Energy seeks an Inventory Volumetric Accountant (Accountant II) to reconcile inventory at company-owned and third-party sites, ensuring accurate records and reporting. You will work with refining locations, resolve discrepancies, and support process improvements using RightAngle ETRM. Requires a Bachelor's in accounting/finance and 2+ years in inventory accounting or energy-related roles.

Onsite U.S. contract position with strong analytical and communication skills, and ability to coordinate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 2+ years related experience required; energy industry preferred.
• Experience with RightAngle's ETRM application is strongly preferred.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile inventory balances across company locations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate bookings.
• Analyze documents such as pipeline tickets, terminal reports, rail reports and refinery tank balances.
• Prepare and record journal entries for accruals and volumetric activity.
• Monitor take-or-pay contracts and related activity for potential accruals and financial impact.
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual tasks and improve processes.
• Collaborate with yield accounting, operations, billing, commercial and marketing to understand inventory movements.
• Maintain clear documentation of procedures and exceptions.
• Participate in special projects and audits as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies related to inventory.
