Job summary

The Navy Exchange at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California is seeking an Inventory Technician to manage stock, verify counts, and resolve receipt and transfer discrepancies using the SIM system. The role supports store operations, replenishment, and price/label accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Two years of experience or a two-year degree are required, with responsibilities including inventory control, SOP compliance, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• A total of two years of experience or two year degree.
• One year of experience in administrative, professional, investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.
• One year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment; knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing the Store Inventory Management (SIM) system, conducting research to resolve errors related to store receipts, transfers in/out, replenishment, inventory adjustments, shipment confirmations, returns to vendor/warehouse, etc
• Inspects, replenishes products to include, but not limited to reviewing shelf Not-in-Stock (NIS) for Retail and Services
• Take inventory, execution and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Perpetual Inventory Management, Planogram Integrity and Price Verification and Label Integrity
• Lifting and handling moderate to heavy objects up to 40 lbs.
• Working both inside and outside in all types of weather conditions

So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

A total of 2 years of experience consisting of the following

GENERAL EXPERIENCE

1 year experience in administrative professional investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.

AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

1 year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.

OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE

One half year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of 1 year general and 1 year specialized experience.
