Job summary

Porter Pipe & Supply in Addison, IL is seeking an Inventory Associate to join our headquarters team. This full-time role focuses on accurate stock control, cycle counts, and maintaining organized storage areas.

You will work with cross-department teams to ensure inventory accuracy, implement 5S principles, and support ongoing improvements while adhering to safety rules. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrated basic mathematical aptitude.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills in English, particularly regarding essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Perform frequent stock checks to verify quantities and locations of inventory items.
• Maintain and update inventory locations using 5S methodology to ensure items are correctly placed and tracked.
• Create new storage locations and label racking as needed.
• Assist with the organization and cleanliness of inventory storage areas, adhering to 5S principles.
• Support the Inventory team with general tasks and projects as required.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth inventory operations.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to inventory management and safety.
• Foster continuous improvement and innovation.
• Adhere to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
