Vault Operations Team - Inventory Specialist

  • $18 - $22/hourly
Job Description

The Inventory Specialist is a part of our Vault Operation Team and is the backbone of our product flow—owning the accuracy, compliance, and readiness of inventory from the moment it arrives to the moment it reaches the sales floor. This role ensures every product is properly received, tracked, labeled, and positioned for seamless fulfillment. Working closely with the Inventory Manager and Fulfillment team, you keep the operation stocked, organized, and always ready to deliver—because when inventory runs right, everything else follows.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, verify, and check in all incoming product deliveries with precision and compliance
  • Maintain accurate records within the seed-to-sale system (METRC), ensuring all inventory movements are properly tracked
  • Label and tag all products in accordance with state regulations and internal standards
  • Organize and maintain inventory across the main vault and day vault for optimal accessibility and efficiency
  • Monitor and replenish stock levels in the day vault to ensure the Fulfillment team is always prepared to pick and pack orders
  • Conduct regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies
  • Work with Inventory Manager to build promotions and special pricing and optimize inventory
  • Partner with the Fulfillment team to ensure smooth order flow and timely execution
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, secure, and compliant inventory environment at all times
  • Communicate inventory issues, discrepancies, or low stock levels to management promptly
  • Support process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance

Bottom line: smooth flow, zero mistakes, and a back-of-house operation that feels effortless to the customer.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory, fulfillment, warehouse, or retail operations (cannabis experience a plus)
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, product handling, and compliance-driven environments
  • Experience working with POS and inventory management systems (Dutchie or similar preferred)
  • Highly detail-oriented with a track record of accuracy in order picking, labeling, and reconciliation
  • Proven accuracy in order picking, labeling, and inventory reconciliation
  • Experience supporting inventory counts, audits, and reporting
  • Comfortable working behind the scenes as part of a team that drives the customer experience
  • Problem-solver mindset with the ability to identify and elevate discrepancies quickly
  • Basic math and data entry skills with confidence in counts, audits, and reportingAbility to follow strict processes and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Physically able to lift, move, and organize product, and stand or sit for extended periods. Job duties may require lifting up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to work with a team as well as independently
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid NJ CRC employee badge — required before your first shift
  • Must pass state‑mandated background checks and fingerprinting as required by NJ law
  • Commitment to adhering to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to follow all state regulations and compliance requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Reports to:

Inventory and Operations Manager

Schedule:

  • Up to 8‑hour shifts
  • Day and Evening shifts
  • Weekend and Holidays availability
