Job Description
Responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champions On-Shelf Availability and is responsible for receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes. Validates and ensures accuracy of planograms.
Responsible for reviewing and coordinating the proper use of reports and system applications, which impact the accuracy of front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing.
Responsible for executing and maintaining front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and filing claims for warehouse and vendor overages (merchandise received but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed but not received), order errors or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
In designated stores, as required, opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.

- Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. When serving as the leader on duty, resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
Operations
- Executes and coaches team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
- Scans all deliveries, including vendor and common carrier deliveries, focusing on One Box receiving. Takes appropriate actions to mark deliveries as received, contacts vendors for undelivered scheduled receipts, and opens tickets to correct inaccuracies.
- Verifies pharmacy shipments against received products, completes postings for all pharmacy orders, and reports shortages or damages.
- Completes On-Shelf Availability (OSA) process, including disposals, call-ins, vendor returns, and scan outs for all subscribed departments including pharmacy.
- Under supervision, completes pharmacy inventory activities including recalls, vendor returns, and transfers. Verifies pharmacy claims postings.
- Executes pricing activities such as price changes, markdowns, and signage updates.
- Supports ordering processes, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products.
- Assists in physical inventory preparations and maintains store and inventory records.
- Supports store systems and equipment, and assists with package delivery activities and the Walgreens Pickup Program.
- When acting as leader on duty, manages POS transactions, including scanning errors, price verifications, and customer refunds.
- Maintains respectful relationships with coworkers and complies with company policies.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
- Attends trainings and completes e-learning modules, including safety.
- Maintains a valid pharmacy license/certification as required.
Communications
- Acts as liaison between management and team members, coaching on inventory systems, and communicates tasks and issues during shifts.
Qualifications
External Basic Qualifications
- Six months of prior Walgreens experience or one year of retail experience.
- Fluent in English (except Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Positive performance reviews and no recent disciplinary actions (internal candidates).
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Operational problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, or customer service associate.
- Previous Walgreens experience preferred.
