Summary

Inventory Specialists maintain adequate inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to address delivery and quality issues. They also ensure daily cycle counting and support related processes. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, manage time effectively, and pay close attention to details.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Understand and be familiar with SAP.
  2. Conduct data entry into various software systems.
  3. Prepare reports for the management team.
  4. Have knowledge of materials, their use, vendors, and lead times.
  5. Support crib attendants in receiving, storing, and disbursing stock, equipment, and tools.
  6. Collaborate with purchasing to prepare requisitions based on production plans, operational needs, past consumption, inventory levels, in-transit inventory, and lead times.
  7. Track the arrival schedule of requested materials with buyers and vendors.
  8. Develop contingency measures for late shipments.
  9. Contact vendors for price quotes and secure pricing.
  10. Prepare various activity reports.
  11. Ensure the security of supplies, equipment, materials, and recycled products.
  12. Assign inventory/stock numbers and designate storage locations.
  13. Maintain records such as perpetual inventory, costs, and supply quantities.
  14. Check incoming materials for quality and verify related documents.
  15. Provide feedback on quality issues to buyers and vendors; return or exchange materials as needed.
  16. Operate automotive vehicles and mechanized handling equipment like forklifts and dollies.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience handling and issuing supplies in a warehouse or store operation preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing tooling, parts, and equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with perpetual inventory and purchasing processes in large manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with SAP, EPS, OA, Excel.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Competence in creating spreadsheets and graphs.
  • Ability to develop work instructions.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to train co-workers on tool crib expectations.
  • Understanding of material receiving and issuing methods.
  • Skill in maintaining supply records and handling storage and sorting of materials.
  • Experience issuing and receiving materials from vendors.
