Job summary

Charles River Laboratories, Kansas site, seeks an Inventory and Shipping Technician to support shipping, receiving and inventory control in a fast-paced lab setting. You will manage materials, track shipments, and assist with basic calibration as part of a global CRO.

The position offers a pay rate of $23/hour, with opportunities for growth while maintaining compliance and safety across laboratory operations.

Qualifications

HS/GED required with 2-3 years’ experience; associate or bachelor's preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to learn a validated system.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended shifts when needed.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Prepare, ship, and receive materials, including biological specimens and chemicals.
Use approved shipping systems to process outbound and inbound shipments.
Track shipment status and notify internal stakeholders.
Receive vendor shipments and notify departments of receipt.
Enter data for received materials into the inventory system.
Stock, sort, and distribute supplies according to schedule.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
Order routine consumables and maintain inventory.
Handle chemicals and biohazardous materials per regulations.
Assist with basic equipment calibration and maintain calibration docs.
Coordinate with internal groups or vendors for calibration maintenance.
Maintain general housekeeping and safety procedures.
Support business continuity procedures when systems are unavailable.
Adhere to CRL DNA behaviors.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
