Job summary

Charles River is seeking a Central Services Technician I (Cage Processing) for the Insourcing Solutions team in Dixon, CA. The role focuses on cleaning and maintaining laboratory animal cages, equipment, and preparation areas under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate verbally and/or in writing, problems requiring the attention of high-level personnel in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • ALAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial tunnel and rack washers for cleaning and sanitizing animal cage supplies through automatic processes.
  • Operate commercial autoclave machinery to sterilize caging equipment and instruments for the animals.
  • Maintain documentation for QA including but not limited to temperature strips, room environmental reports and logs, dish washer and/or autoclaving logs.
  • Handle and transfer supplies (caging, gases, dry ice, liquid nitrogen), and waste as needed to and from work area(s).
  • Perform daily cage wash area duties including recycling and scheduled sanitation procedures with documentation.
  • Provide cleaning and maintenance of laboratory animal caging, equipment and cage preparation areas as well as cleaning of animal support areas with supporting documentation under supervision.
  • Provide quality assurance to the cagewash area.
  • Ability to work in a repetitive high throughput environment.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Central Services Technician I (Cage Processing) to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Dixon, CA.

In the Central Services Technician I (Cage Processing) role, you will provide cleaning and maintenance of laboratory animal caging, equipment and cage preparation areas as well as cleaning of animal support areas under minimal supervision.

Job Qualifications
  • A candidate that possesses a High School diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate verbally and/or in writing, problems requiring the attention of high-level personnel in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • ALAT certification preferred.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 to $21.94USD per hour. Please note the range will depend on factors such as experience, skills, region, and certification.
