Safeway in Portland, OR is seeking an Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC) to oversee Direct Store Delivery operations, ensuring merchandise is received, accounted for, and stocked. You will walk the store daily to scan items, identify stock issues, and work with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk.

The role emphasizes inventory accuracy, donations monitoring, and maintaining a clean backroom.

Qualifications

• Experience with receiving, tracking, and reconciling inventory in a retail or grocery environment.
• Basic computer skills including email, Excel, and familiarity with store portals or inventory systems.
• Ability to monitor damaged, expired, or salvageable merchandise and process returns for credit accurately.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain backroom cleanliness, security, and order.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations and ensure merchandise is received, accounted for, and stocked.
• Walk the store daily to scan DSD items and identify out-of-stock or overstock conditions.
• Partner with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk.
• Communicate regularly with the Store Director to support inventory accuracy and promotional execution.
• Monitor donations and manage grocery and non-perishable inventories.
• Maintain a secure, clean, and organized backroom environment.
