Job summary

Prairie Farms Dairy in Quincy, IL is seeking a Purchasing/Inventory Clerk to manage daily ordering, track stock levels, and reconcile materials to keep operations running smoothly. This full-time, non-union role reports to the Plant Manager and requires basic math, strong data entry, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AS400 or inventory software is preferred.

Overtime and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• 1+ years of experience in purchasing or inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Managing daily ordering, tracks stock levels, and reconciles incoming and outgoing materials to keep business and warehouse operations running smoothly and efficiently.
• Conducting end-of-month counts of ingredients and packaging.
• Entering daily intercompany transfers as well as inbound receipts of ingredients and packaging into AS400 system.
• Recognizing inconsistencies, checking your own work, identifying anomalies, and communicating with proper personnel to resolve them.
• Closing out monthly reports in support of financials.
• Documenting retention and retrieval for audits.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and monitoring stock levels.
• Monitoring stock levels and placing orders for supplies and materials as needed.
• Assisting with other purchasing and inventory related tasks as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery or orders.
• Perform regular audits of inventory to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
