Job summary

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of vehicles throughout the dealership, including new and used inventory.
• Monitor incoming vehicles and route for inspection, service, detailing, photos, and display.
• Prepare vehicles for the sales lot, ensuring cleanliness, fueling/charging, and readiness.
• Coordinate with Sales, Service, Parts and other departments to keep vehicles moving.
• Verify keys, paperwork, tags, accessories, and other required items.
• Assist with inventory locations and vehicle status records.
• Move vehicles between dealership locations, service areas, and storage as needed.
• Ensure vehicles are parked and displayed according to standards.
• Identify and report vehicle issues or discrepancies to the appropriate department.
• Assist with preparing sold vehicles for customer delivery and transfers.

The Inventory Prep Coordinator plays an important role in keeping vehicle inventory organized, presentable, and ready for customers. This position coordinates the movement and preparation of vehicles as they arrive, are sold, transferred, or otherwise move through the dealership. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who takes pride in keeping things moving and making sure the details are taken care of.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the movement of vehicles throughout the dealership, including new and used inventory.
• Monitor incoming vehicles and ensure they are properly routed for inspection, service, detailing, photos, and display.
• Prepare vehicles for the sales lot by ensuring they are clean, fueled/charged, properly pared, and ready for presentation.
• Coordinate with Sales, Service, Parts, and other departments to keep vehicles moving efficiently.
• Verify vehicles have the appropriate keys, paperwork, tags, accessories, and other required items.
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory locations and vehicle status.
• Move vehicles between dealership locations, service areas, detail areas, and storage locations as needed.
• Ensure vehicles are parked and displayed according to dealership standards.
• Identify and report vehicle issues, damage, missing equipment, or discrepancies to the appropriate department.
• Assist with preparing sold vehicles for customer delivery.
• Help coordinate vehicle transfers, dealer trades, and other inventory movements.
• Maintain an organized and safe vehicle lot.
• Assist with inventory counts and periodic lot audits.
• Ensure vehicles are secured and dealership keys are handled according to company procedures.
• Follow all dealership safety policies and vehicle-handling procedures.
