Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) is seeking a detail‑oriented Inventory Planner to oversee daily material movements at our Sugar Land facility. You will manage transactions, safeguard assets, and support training within the department.

This on‑site role requires a 2–3 year background in inventory management, SAP experience, and strong analytical skills. You will work in a hybrid manufacturing environment with collaboration across warehouse and office spaces.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–3 years of inventory management experience.
• Familiarity with ERP Inventory module; SAP experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Manage issuing and receiving of all material types.
• Perform regular inventory counts (monthly/annual).
• Coordinate inventory transactions using SAP/MES systems.
• Maintain custody of inventory materials; ensure count accuracy.
• Organize shelves and storage by material category and location.
• Pick and issue materials per work order BOM in SAP/MES.
• Process and record material returns from work orders.
• Receive and confirm incoming materials after quality inspection.
• Communicate with production control on special picking requirements.
• Support manager with daily operations and training initiatives.
• Participate in audits and special assignments.
