Job summary

Grocery Outlet is seeking an Inventory Planning professional to manage inventory health across stores and warehouses. You’ll analyze units, sales and margins, work with buyers on Open-to-Buy, and ensure optimal code life and turns according to GOI standards.

You will forecast sales, manage warehouse inventory, and support seasonal programs while collaborating with store operators and vendors to maximize profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and margins.
• Proficient in MS Office; advanced Excel preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis (units, sales, and margin) for SKU’s, programs, categories, and recommend strategies to maximize revenue and turns.
• Manage departmental financial plans, Open-to-Buy, and analysis at department/category/SKU levels.
• Ensure inventory levels through careful planning based on demand, usage, forecasts and trends.
• Forecast accuracy on sales dollars, ads, and case projections.
• Present analytics and reports to management at different levels.
• Manage warehouse inventory and make internal transfers as needed.
• Create daily/weekly/monthly aging reports for buyers.
• Forecast and review Made-to-Order items; manage in-stock levels with buyers.
• Assist buyers with inventory or code date issues on products.
• Understand transportation modes, pricing, and business practices.
• Apply allocation to execute Treasure Hunt merchandising strategy.
• Execute regional category trends and regional/climate-based merchandise needs.
• Account for seasonality; develop control/allocation processes.
• Build inventory mix for new store openings.
• Educate operators to achieve profitable sales, merchandising, and inventory management.
• Raise standards of inventory representation.
• Manage order flow to support sales, inventory, margin, DC space plans.
• Distribute products effectively to maintain proper turn.
• Partner with Store Operators, Sales & Merchandising, Vendors, and DCs.
• Develop plans for seasonal and transition programs; optimize pricing margins.
