Job summary

Walgreens in United States (Illinois) is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Associate to manage front end and pharmacy inventory, pricing, and asset protection, while ensuring accurate planograms and efficient store operations.

You will engage customers, resolve issues, and supervise inventory scans, deliveries, and recalls under pharmacist-in-charge supervision. A flexible schedule and prior retail experience are preferred, with proficiency in English essential.

Qualifications

• Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Must have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi task and manage execution.
• Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Responsibilities

• Executes, monitors, and trains inventory best practices and SOPs for the store, including front end and pharmacy, inventory management activities, planograms validation, pricing and returns.
• Reviews and coordinates use of reports and systems affecting on-hand balances and pricing for front end and pharmacy.
• Executes and maintains front end and pharmacy asset protection, including filing claims for overages, shortages, and damaged goods.
• In designated stores, opens/closes the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and cashier duties.
• Engages customers, assists with products and services, resolves issues to ensure a positive experience, and models customer service best practices.
• Manages warehouse/vendor inventory processes, creates/receives orders, scans deliveries, and ensures postings for pharmacy orders and recalls.
• Completes On-Shelf Availability end-to-end process for planogrammed departments, including vendor returns and shelf updates.
• Maintains inventory counts and accuracy across front end, stockroom, and pharmacy, including recalls and regulatory pricing tasks.
• Maintains compliance with state/local laws for regulated products and supports inventory records and physical inventory preparation.
• Coaches store team on package delivery activities and supports Pickup Program; serves as leader on duty with POS responsibilities.
• Attends trainings, completes safety modules, and maintains pharmacy license/certification as required.
• Communicates tasks to team members and reports issues to management.
