Job summary

Alaska Communications seeks a Materials Management Specialist II or Trainee to handle inbound/outbound materials, stock inventory, and issue items to crews. You will operate forklifts and a PC-based inventory system, ensuring accurate shipments and compliance with Hazmat rules where applicable.

The role requires a valid Alaska driver’s license, forklift training within 90 days, and IATA/CFR hazmat awareness within 180 days.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 1 year general office experience.
• Experience with warehouse procedures and inventory control systems.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license and forklift training/certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock and issue materials using a computerized inventory system.
• Package, ship and transport materials to sites and vendors.
• Conduct yearly physical inventories and resolve variances.
• Train others in MMS II classification and coordinate daily work.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and safety rules.
