Job summary

Alaska Communications is seeking a Materials Management Specialist II (or Trainee) to handle mail, inventory, and material flow across office, warehouse, and outdoor storage areas. You will receive, stock, and issue items, coordinate with crews, and ensure accurate inventory records while following safety rules.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree with one year of general office experience, a valid Alaska driver’s license, forklift training, and the ability to pass a drug and alcohol

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and one year general office experience.
• Extensive knowledge of warehouse procedures and telephone equipment.
• Must pass a Drug and Alcohol Background check.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license and forklift training/certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials and verify quantities, damages, and stock status.
• Operate inventory systems to issue materials and manage transfers.
• Package and ship materials to vendors and Alaska Communications facilities.
• Perform yearly inventory counts and resolve variances.
• Train others in MMS classification and coordinate inter-warehouse activity.
• Move and handle pallets and heavy materials using equipment.
