Job summary

Henderson Harbor Group, a growing regional supply distributor with locations in New Jersey, seeks an Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations across two facilities. You will manage levels, movements, replenishment, and transfers while ensuring accuracy in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Operations, Warehouse, and Finance to minimize excess and shortages, establish KPIs, and improve processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience managing inventory across multiple locations is required.
• Strong Excel skills with ability to analyze large datasets.
• Experience with ERP systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory management across two locations, including levels, movement, replenishment, transfers, and availability.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within Microsoft Business Central (receipts, shipments, adjustments, transfers).
• Monitor reorder points, min/max levels, and purchasing requirements with Purchasing team.
• Manage cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and aging inventory to improve turnover and reduce carrying costs.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Finance to support reporting and reconciliation.
• Develop and maintain inventory reports and KPIs; identify opportunities to improve processes and BC utilization.
• Establish and maintain inventory procedures; train warehouse and inventory personnel.

Job description

A growing regional supply distributor with locations in New Jersey is seeking an Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations for their facilities. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, improving inventory controls and processes, coordinating purchasing and replenishment activities, and ensuring inventory is properly tracked within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The Inventory Manager will work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Operations, Warehouse, and Finance to ensure the company maintains the right inventory levels while minimizing excess, shortages, and carrying costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory management across two locations, including inventory levels, product movement, replenishment, transfers, and overall availability.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within Microsoft Business Central, including receipts, shipments, adjustments, transfers, and other inventory transactions.
• Monitor inventory trends and establish appropriate reorder points, min/max levels, and purchasing requirements in partnership with the Purchasing team.
• Manage cycle counts and physical inventories, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
• Analyze slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and aging inventory and make recommendations to improve inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Finance to coordinate inventory needs, resolve issues, and support accurate inventory reporting and reconciliation.
• Develop and maintain inventory reports and KPIs while identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, and utilization of Business Central.
• Establish and maintain inventory procedures and provide guidance and training to warehouse and inventory personnel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, distribution, supply chain, or a related field.
• Experience managing inventory across multiple locations preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, purchasing, replenishment, cycle counting, and warehouse processes.
• Experience working with an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of inventory data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to identify inventory issues, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to work effectively with Purchasing, Sales, Operations, Warehouse, and Finance teams.

Preferred Experience

• Distribution, wholesale, industrial supply, building materials, or similar environment.
• Experience supporting multiple warehouses or branch locations.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central inventory, purchasing, and warehouse functionality.
• Experience developing inventory KPIs and management reports.
• Knowledge of inventory valuation and reconciliation processes.
