Job summary

FN America, LLC is seeking an Inventory Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of materials, including planning, storage, movement, and accurate traceability within the ERP system. You will drive inventory performance and strive for world-class accuracy.

You will work with purchasing, production planning, and finance to optimize material flow, parameter settings, and annual physical counts, while ensuring safety and lean practices across the operation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of five years of inventory management/control experience and at least one year of material planning experience required.
  • Kaizen experience preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Position Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of materials, including material planning and inventory parameters, materials movement, and inventory accuracy. This position ensures that materials are properly stored, safely handled, readily accessible, and accurately tracked and traceable within the ERP system.

Job Duties
  • Monitor and analyze inventory performance metrics, including inventory turns, days of inventory, and inventory accuracy.
  • Manage the movement and storage processes and standards for all inventoried materials.
  • Set material parameters including minimum purchase quantities, safety stock, and reorder points for inventoried products.
  • Evaluate usage trends, purchasing requirements, future demand and space constraints to define material planning parameters used by procurement team. (Plan for Every Part)
  • Work closely with purchasing and production planning teams to ensure that materials are ordered, delivered and distributed as needed, within material parameters.
  • Ensure teams follow safe practices and procedures when handling, moving, and storing all materials.
  • Determine which materials should be held in inventory and establish appropriate storage requirements. Continuously monitor demand and usage trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
  • Own and execute all Excess and Obsolete processes according to company guidelines and financial practices.
  • Perform A/B/C analysis for the inventory profile and maintain a robust cycle counting process to achieve world class inventory accuracy performance.
  • Partner with NPD teams to plan inventory parameters for new product launches.
  • Lead annual physical inventory counting processes.
  • Collaborate with finance team to ensure accurate inventory valuation and alignment with company financial practices.
  • Complete root cause analysis for inventory inaccuracies and implement countermeasures to eliminate causes.
  • Work with production planners to ensure that all materials are delivered to production cells as required.
  • Maintain accuracy for all serialized items including finished goods.
  • Manage line-side kanban in production cells to assure materials are always available in defined quantities.
  • Use lean tools to continually improve material management processes and practices.
  • Lead inventory specialist team to build strong processes and operate with excellence.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, or equivalent required.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of five years of experience in inventory management/control and at least one year of experience in material planning are required. Previous experience participating in Kaizen activities is preferred. Previous experience working with SAP is preferred.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment with some travel between buildings and to other locations required. Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move/lift to 25 pounds without assistance.
