Job description

You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NAVMEDREADLOGCOM) of NAVMEDREADLOGCMD.
Duties

  • You will serve as Property Management Lead, supporting a broad range of duties required to accomplish the mission of a large production, sustainment, and distribution center.
  • You will assist a higher graded Industrial Property Management Specialist in the accountability and oversight of NAVMEDREADLOGCOM material from receipt of requisition to disposal.
  • You will serve as training lead for inventory management specialists and contract warehouse staff assigned to the Property Management Department and other departments as needed.
  • You will provide instructor led, hands on, and over-the-shoulder training for new employees, and will be a primary qualifier for multiple supply related personnel qualification standards.
  • You will coordinate inventory documentation and support the Property Manager in obtaining all required documentation, filing of records, and taking appropriate actions in regards to inventory gains and losses of material.
  • You will review inventory results, perform pre-adjustment research for any remaining inventory discrepancies and records inventory adjustments to the APSR or business logistics application within 5 business days of identifying discrepancies.
  • You will utilize research tools (DMLSS, HIMS, HAYSTACK, WEBFLIS, Medical Master Catalog, Medical Product Databank) to assist in material identification.
  • You will maintain serialized seal log for documentation of sealed containers, verifying seal accuracy and updates when seals are changed or modified.
  • You will ensure any changes in condition code or other label-related data fields are properly annotated and updated.
  • You will support the Accountable Property Officer in the development and implementation of property administration procedures where there are little or no established guidelines or precedents.
  • You will use business intelligence tools and automated supply systems to evaluate relationships between storage location availability, on-hand inventory, material in transit, and upcoming supply requirements in order to update warehouse stow plans.
  • You will forecast durable and consumable supply requirements for warehouse operations and submit internal requisitions to government or contract acquisition staff, depending on the type of supplies required.
  • You will use business logistics application (BLA) (warehouse management system and/or accountable property system of record) to receive and transmit pick-and-stow data, and for the assignment and completion of warehousing tasks.
  • You will maintain records and controls over materials in stock, due in, or planned for the distribution system on a quantitative and monetary basis.
  • You will control the distribution or redistribution of stock within the supply system.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using and applying inventory management principles, supply chain operations, and property accountability procedures; 2) Utilizing experience with conducting physical inventories, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining inventory records within an accountable property system of record; 3) Demonstrating proficiency in using business logistics applications, analyzing data, and providing training to others in inventory management processes; and 4) Showing strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and lead teams in completing complex tasks.
