Job summary

Book of the Month is seeking a Manager of Inventory & E-commerce Strategy to own inventory and merchandising strategy and execution. You will blend business creativity with sharp analytics to shape how we merchandise and manage books while remaining hands-on with detailed iteration.

You will lead cross-functional efforts, forecast demand, and build tools and reports in collaboration with Product and Engineering to drive accurate inventory planning and a superior member experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in inventory management, product merchandising, or retail analytics.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Experience building new reports or processes to improve performance.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Creative and able to generate new ideas.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience mentoring junior employees.
• Love of reading; BOTM experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Build new processes integrating merchandising and inventory management to forecast demand.
• Own a roadmap of testing ideas for merchandising the member experience in the UI.
• Conceptualize and collaborate with engineering to build tools and reports for inventory forecasting.
• Own the cycle project plan for inventory tasks across cross-functional teams.
• Create and share reports tracking inventory to enable quick decision-making.
• Define an inventory strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Compile member insights from surveys, social listening, and customer service to drive actions.
• Communicate insights with Product and Operations to implement new ideas.
