We sell trees, shrubs, perennials, natural stone, concrete products, and more. We have 50+ acres of ready-to-sell plant material ranging from 3’ shrubs to 5” caliper trees. Customer Service Field Assistant- Inventory Coordinator

Location: Sand Lake/Cedar Springs, MI

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive individual to join our team as a Plant Allocation & Inventory Coordinator. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to allocate plant material for customer orders, helping to streamline the pulling and shipping process. You will serve as a critical communication link between inventory operations and the sales team, providing updates, identifying issues, and recommending substitutions when necessary. This is an outdoor position that requires physical stamina and the ability to work in all weather conditions. Expect to walk a minimum of 5 miles per day across our 50+ acre facility.

Full-Time, M-F, Overtime Potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate order fulfillment, including B&B and potted tree orders
  • Assist sales staff and customers with inventory-related inquiries
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory across a 50+ acre yard
  • Inspect plant material to ensure quality standards are met before shipment
  • Guide customers on facility tours and provide expert insight on available material
  • Identify and resolve order or inventory issues proactively
  • Prepare plant material for shipping, ensuring efficient processing and handling

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of plant biology and horticulture
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Clear and effective verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Kalamazoo Nursery Manager

Full-Time, M-F, Overtime Potential.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery in Kalamazoo, MI. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants, strong leadership skills, and experience in horticulture or nursery management. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring plant health, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the nursery, including plant care, and inventory management.
  • Ensure the health and quality of plants through proper watering, fertilization, pest control, and pruning.
  • Maintain relationships with purchasing and production team, coordinate deliveries, and manage inventory levels to meet demand.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients with plant selection, care advice, and troubleshooting plant health issues.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, sales, and profitability of the nursery.
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations related to horticulture and business operations.
  • Work with Marketing to promote sales and customer engagement in Kalamazoo.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized nursery environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, agriculture, business management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in nursery management, greenhouse operations, or a similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of plant care, pest management, and soil health.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and handle physical labor as needed.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and basic financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools, equipment, and software.

Nursery Crew Lead

Are you a self-motivated, hardworking individual with a can-do attitude and a strong willingness to learn? Do you enjoy the outdoors? We are looking for new crew members to join our team! As a Plant Nursery Outdoor Crew Leader, you'll be a critical member of our team that helps maintain the nursery, working as a team player to fill gaps as needed in order get the job done. This is a fast-paced job, and you will need to be able to handle the pressure of time crunches. We are willing to compensate hard working people!

Responsibilites
• Help load and unload trucks and prepare material for sale: Move items to the correct location in the nursery and provide water
• Water, prune and fertilize plants. Pull weeds and help with the general upkeep of polyhouses
• Help move plant material in and out of polyhouses in early spring and fall. Trim plants and clean polyhouses in fall
• Help weekend crew with watering, potting, truck unloading, and plant maintenance as needed
• Irrigation maintenance
• Operate nursery equipment

• Although experience in the Green Industry is a plus, no previous industry experience is required. We are willing to train the right person!

Job Schedule/Compensation
This is a full-time position. Pay based on experience.
• Full time position M-F with some weekend work during the busy season
• Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week.
