Job summary

ChampionX is seeking an Inventory Control Operator in Odessa, TX, joining a global technology company transitioning to SLB as part of a planned integration. You will manage ESP equipment inventory, perform daily ERP transactions, and conduct cycle counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role requires forklift capability, strong attention to detail, and collaboration with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize material flow and prevent stockouts.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in inventory control, warehouse, materials management, or supply chain.
  • Ability to drive a forklift and operate related equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask across multiple computer programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for ESP equipment, including pumps, motors, protectors, variable speed drives, and cable.
  • Perform daily inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and returns in the ERP system.
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, variances, and transaction errors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent stockouts and excess stock.
  • Verify material availability to support manufacturing, assembly, repair, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound material movements between warehouses, repair facilities, and field locations.
  • Track serialized equipment and maintain asset traceability throughout the lifecycle.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of ESP components; comply with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams on material requirements and optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare inventory reports, performance metrics, and status updates for management.
  • Support year-end inventory accounts and financial audits.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, quality management systems, and HSE requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.

What You Will Do:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for ESP equipment, including pumps, motors, protectors, variable speed drives, and cable

  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of ESP components to prevent damage and maintain quality standards
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams regarding material requirements, shortages, and inventory optimization opportunities
  • Prepare inventory reports, performance metrics, and status updates for management
  • Support year-end inventory accounts and financial audits
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, quality management systems, and HSE requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
Position Details:
  • 11 days on/3 days off, every other weekend
  • 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in inventory control, warehouse, materials management, or supply chain
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask through multiple computer programs
  • Strong proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve shipping and inventory issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with colleagues across departments to achieve shared goals
  • Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourage action assuring safe behavior; confront unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively

Physical Demands:

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motion are all required for this role. Close visual acuity is required for visual inspections involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection) and motor vehicles, using measurement devices, and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. Subject to environmental conditions as activities occur inside and outside. Subject to hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation that may affect the respiratory system or the skin. Subject to oils such as cutting fluids that may affect the respiratory system or the skin.
