Job summary

Clayton is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor to oversee the movement and accuracy of materials across the warehouse, production, and yard. This role partners with the Material Planner to ensure the right product is in the right location at the right time for all product types moving through the facility.

You will develop cycle-count procedures, investigate variances, and optimize material flows from raw materials to finished goods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply-chain or related field is required.
  • 0–2 years in inventory control or 5 years of equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication via phone, email, or in person.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cycle-count procedures for accurate planning signals.
  • Root-cause inventory variances and document corrective actions.
  • Develop optimal pick-paths for materials to production or outbound staging.
  • Ensure FIFO inventory handling and Ti-Hi compliance.
  • Verify receipts and reconcile sub inventories daily.
  • Collaborate with Material Planner and Production Management.

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for the physical movement and accuracy of all materials moving through the entire warehouse, production and yard complex. The Inventory Control Supervisor will work closely with the Material Planner to ensure having the right product, in the right location, in the right quantity, at the right time for all product types moving through the facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and maintain and proper cycle-count procedure to maintain accurate material planning signals
  • Root-cause inventory variances and document corrective action to resolution
  • Develop optimal pick-path for raw materials to production or finished goods to outbound staging
  • Ensuring all inventory is being correctly cycled on a FIFO process
  • Verify receipt accuracy and Ti-Hi compliance
  • Manage/Dispose damaged, slow-moving & obsolete materials stored in the quarantine area
  • Manage inbound staging, outbound staging, and completion locations ensuring these sub inventories are reconciled daily
  • Manage the yard inventory and FIFO rotation rules
  • Monitor storage capacity against inbound supply requirements and adjust when necessary
  • Oversee the organization and labeling of inventory for accurate identification and retrieval
  • Maintain close working relationships with Material Planner, Production Management and Allocator
  • Monitor SKU item master data elements and edit when required (ABC/Ti-HI/Substitutions/UOM, etc)
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement through variance the variance reconciliation process
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing cost
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply-Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 0-2 years’ experience in inventory control, supply-chain-planning, or 5 years of equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, or in person
  • Self-Starter
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
