Job summary

Clayton Manufacturing in Montana is seeking a forklift/material handler to support plant operations. You will operate forklifts, move materials, and assist in receiving and storing shipments while following safety procedures.

Must be 18+ years old, able to pass forklift training, read tape measures and prints, and maintain physical readiness. This full-time role offers growth opportunities within Clayton’s manufacturing network.

Primary Purpose:

Handle and place materials needed in each department of the plant.

Job Duties:
  • Drive forklift to transport materials within the plant.
  • Supply materials to plant departments as required.
  • Receive materials delivered from vendors.
  • Store materials in their respective areas.
Education / Experience Required:
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Able to pass forklift training or hold a Clayton Forklift License.
  • Ability to read tape measure.
  • Ability to read and understand prints.
Safety / Environment Requirements:
  • Exposure to uncontrolled climate conditions.
  • Use of bump cap, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
  • Potential inhalation of insulation, sawdust, water-based paint, and water-based glue.
Equipment / Machines Used:
  • Forklifts.
  • Hand trucks.
  • Pallet jacks.
  • Personal protective equipment.
Testing Requirements:
  • Drug test.
  • Hearing test.
  • Forklift test.
  • Tape measure test.
Cognitive Skills:
  • Basic math skills.
  • Reading and writing skills.
  • Good reasoning skills.
  • Self-motivated.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting on forklift for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb on and off the forklift.
  • Moderate amount of stretching and bending required.
  • Normal use of hands.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
