Job summary

Clayton, a leading home builder, is seeking a hands-on manufacturing team member. This role involves feeding lumber, stacking, and verifying cut sizes, then preparing items for the next station. You will operate and maintain basic tools while collaborating with teammates to meet production goals.

Applicants should be able to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced setting. Clayton emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and a strong team culture across nationwide operations.

Responsibilities

• Feed and stack lumber for sawing according to cut sheets.
• Lift and move materials and finished products as directed.
• Verify cut sizes with a tape measure.
• Band finished products and prepare for forklift transport to next station.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area.
• Assist other team members as needed.

Essential Duties

• Feeding and/or stacking lumber into a saw to be cut to a specific size.
• Lifts material repeatedly.
• Verifies cut size using tape measure according to cut sheet.
• Bands finished product together and labels it for forklift operators to take to next station.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and surrounding area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assist other Team Members within the department as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop throughout the day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day, as well as other physical duties as needed.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 hours per day with 2 – 15 minutes breaks in between.
• Must be able to utilize tools.
• Must be able to lift and carry lumber of different sizes and other products.
• Must be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other Team Members.
• Must be able to learn and follow company procedures and work instructions consistently.
• Must be able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperature.
