Part Time Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-11am (flex)

How do we make an impact?

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management.

What will you do?

• Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities:
• On-site program replenishments and disbursements
• Receiving
• Put-away
• Stock rotation
• Cycle counts
• General customer service
• Work open order reports
• Product returns
• Backorder processing
• Inventory management reports as assigned
• Follow work processes as outlined by our written procedures & update SOPs and work instructions on an annual basis
• Listen to customer concerns, effectively address issues with a goal of resolution within established timeframe, and proactively communicate with supervisor any customer concerns and/or potential problems
• Work closely with Fisher Scientific sales team as needed
• Engage in process improvement activities
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

Education

• Minimum Required Education: High school diploma/ GED required
• Higher education is a plus

Experience

• 1 or more years of inventory control experience required
• Prior experience within a laboratory setting is preferred
• Experience working in customer service is also a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently with strong verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to deliver excellent customer service
• Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the communication skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site
• Independently operates handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports
• Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Works primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)
• Personal protective equipment is required in certain areas. This includes lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glasses
• Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts and pallet jacks
• Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to work overtime, as needed
