Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) is seeking an Inventory Control team member in Greenwood, Indiana to track and maintain accurate inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate with multiple departments to optimize product flow and shelf availability.

The role emphasizes compliance with safety standards and efficient handling of damaged or salvaged goods. The position focuses on data accuracy, timely reporting, and collaboration with operations leadership to drive improvements

Qualifications

• Licensed to operate powered industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures.
• Understanding of Bakco functions and RF systems.
• Experience with warehouse processes and documentation.
• Ability to interpret inventory paperwork and reporting methods.
• Big-picture understanding of warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Verify credits and provide disposition to customer experience.
• Collaborate with customer experience on credit inquiries.
• Use reports to identify trends and advise operations and stakeholders.
• Perform on-site shipping and receiving audits as needed.
• Coordinate with inventory control to review and process adjustments.
• Make accurate inventory adjustments in the system.
• Review penalty box items and identify trends for coaching.
• Review daily reports and act on them.
• Coordinate with procurement, operations, and inventory control on inventory concerns.
• Reconcile store returns and adjust inventory accordingly.
• Prepare returns for pickup and verify counts.
• Ensure compliance with inventory SOPs and policies.
• Identify and resolve internal shrink concerns.
• Act as inventory lead with leadership support.
• Document and retain pick-up records per guidelines.
• Monitor outside/offsite storage inventory and velocities.
• Direct offsite storage providers for inventory pull/pick.
• Ensure proper rotation of products in storage.
• Lead inventory control projects to improve processes.
• Inspect incoming shipments and shelf-life of perishable goods.
• Conduct daily cooler walks to verify dated inventory.
• Adhere to SQF and food safety policies.
• Perform other relevant duties as required.
