Job summary

SpartanNash Midland, GA, is hiring an Inventory Control Clerk to support inventory accuracy in the distribution center. Responsibilities include counting, auditing outgoing orders, and maintaining data in the WMS.

The role interfaces with multiple departments to ensure correct inventories and efficient warehouse slotting. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong math and data-entry skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or combination of education/experience.
• Prior warehouse/distribution experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have good math, problem-solving and data entry skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to count inventory and research issues.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and ability to learn other system applications.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently within a fast-paced warehouse operation.
• Must follow safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies and practices.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, day or night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Support the inventory process in the Distribution Center through counting and auditing.
• Prepare inventory related reports and verify balances in the Warehouse Management System.
• Identify shortages and discrepancies and research inaccuracies.
• Assist in monitoring slotting and layout of the warehouse to optimize efficiency.
• Disposit short-dated inventory, aged inventory, damage and salvage product.
• Communicate inventory issues to supervisors and accounting promptly.
• Coordinate with Buying, Accounting, Shipping, Receiving, Transportation and vendors.
