Job summary

The Container Store in Aberdeen, MD is seeking a Distribution Inventory Control associate to help manage inventory accuracy in our Distribution Center. This full-time, hourly, non-exempt role emphasizes cycle counts, damage control, and collaboration with the DC team to maintain optimal stock levels.

Qualified candidates will have experience in warehouse inventory control, ability to operate a Cherry Picker, and strong arithmetic and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in Warehouse Inventory Control field, preferred; retail experience a plus.
• Be able to operate Order (Cherry) Picker.
• Based in Aberdeen Maryland area
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs
• Able to perform basic arithmetic skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
• Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
• Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
• Possesses focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure

Responsibilities

• Leads inventory accuracy through audits and observations
• Directs product removal through damage process
• Performs daily cycle counts and quality control checks
• Assists with product movement by operating equipment as needed
• Maintains department metrics
• Helps manage out of stocks and back to stock process
