Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory control in the Cincinnati Distribution Center (CDC). The role involves driving and monitoring inventory accuracy throughout warehousing processes—from receipt of inbound inventory, packaging of finished goods, to shipment of outbound orders. The specialist also investigates and resolves inventory issues promptly.

Core Schedule

07:00am - 03:30pm, Monday - Friday, plus extended hours and rotating Saturdays. Mandatory overtime during the last two calendar days of the month.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and erroneous transactions.
  • Troubleshoot to find root causes of inventory issues and discrepancies.
  • Respond to urgent inventory issues and counts.
  • Perform cycle counts daily.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy to potentially exclude the need for a yearly physical inventory.
  • Educate and train staff on system errors.
  • Reduce on-hand inventory through adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Sales, PLMs, and Quality to reduce stagnant inventory.
  • Assist other facilities with inventory issues as needed.
  • Work with Finance & Accounting to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
  • Create reports on inventory data (usage, turns, etc.).
  • Demonstrate proficiency with inventory control functions in D365.
  • Support efforts to reduce excess inventory.
  • Engage the Excess Inventory Task Force.
  • Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy and write-offs.
  • Manage daily PRD and TFR transactions.
  • Drive process improvements and develop KPIs for enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
  • Participate in product counting, relocation, and inventory processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
  • Handle safety and PPE requirements per SDS and company procedures.
  • Follow all safety regulations related to handling chemicals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including secondary purchasing functions.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
Qualifications
  • Professional demeanor at all times.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing/distribution.
  • At least 3 years experience with warehouse order selection.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in inventory control.
  • Experience operating forklifts and reach trucks.
  • Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with warehouse management software and Microsoft Office, including Dynamics (AX & D365).
  • Ability to read load diagrams, shipping orders, and work instructions.
  • Ability to operate RF scanners and radios.
  • Valid forklift license (post-offer).
  • Effective collaboration, communication, and time management skills.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Visual acuity, including color and depth perception.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
