The primary purpose of the Inventory Control Specialist position within the Learning Space Technology team at UNC Charlotte is to provide inventory management for all items that are procured, installed, and supported by the AV Integration and Classroom Support Teams. This position requires previous experience maintaining inventories, ordering and supplying necessary project items while maintaining accurate records of all procurements. The Inventory Control Specialist will monitor and track current inventory levels, equipment orders, and investigate problems with vendors to navigate supply chain demands and issues. This position will also maintain and update the database used for physical count of inventory and the reconciliation of actual stock count to generated reports. This team is directly responsible for managing the University’s 475+ learning spaces, common spaces, and digital signage, which requires the ordering of a minimum of $2M worth of inventory annually, tracking of each piece of equipment, and working with both Capital Projects for inventory needed for all new buildings and the Business Operations team for funding of projects. Larger capital projects for new buildings or building renovations include ordering and tracking inventory for million-dollar projects, a requirement of this position.
High school diploma or equivalency.
Note: Some state job postings state you can qualify by an ‘equivalent combination of education and experience.’ If that language appears above, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
