EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist supports the Facilities Department by assisting with the organization, tracking, and maintenance of inventory records. This part-time, entry-level position helps ensure supplies and materials are accurately recorded and available to support campus operations. The role requires strong organization, reliability, and attention to detail.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with maintaining and updating inventory records for accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or excess stock.
  • Support inventory counts and assist with physical audits as needed.
  • Coordinate with Facilities staff and purchasing on inventory flow.
  • Organize storage areas and rotate supplies properly.
  • Identify damaged, expired, or obsolete inventory.
  • Enter and review inventory data for reporting purposes.
  • Follow established procedures for inventory control and loss prevention.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to learn inventory systems and procedures.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a part-time role.
  • Dependable and able to follow instructions.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during inventory counts.
  • Must navigate campus and reach items high and low.
