Job summary

Dwyer Instruments, PTY in Wolcott, CT, is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to safeguard inventory accuracy and material readiness for manufacturing operations. The role performs cycle counts, investigates discrepancies, and processes approved adjustments under the Materials Manager's direction.

You will collaborate across Planning, Purchasing, Operations, Warehouse, Finance, Quality, and Engineering to reconcile records with physical stock and support production schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of inventory control, materials, warehouse, or related experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Experience performing inventory counts, researching discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
• Working knowledge of ERP or inventory-management systems and related transactions.
• Understanding of receiving, transfers, material issues, backflush, scrap, returns, and shipping.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data handling.
• Ability to interpret bills of material, work orders, part-number structures, and inventory reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitor inventory accuracy across raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and warehouse areas.
• Validate physical counts before adjustments and coordinate recounts as needed.
• Identify obsolete, excess, or slow-moving inventory and support disposition.
• Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance to ensure material readiness.
• Support material shortage investigations and recovery while maintaining transaction integrity.
