Job summary

US Foods, Inc. seeks a Manager, Inventory Control to lead inventory control at our Illinois facilities (Aurora onboarding, Plainfield base). You will partner with Finance and Supply Chain to drive improvements, safeguard assets, and deliver key inventory metrics while developing a high-performing team.

This onsite role manages up to 9 staff, focuses on labor planning, controls, SOX compliance, safety, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce losses and optimize operations.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in inventory control or warehousing.
• Strong understanding of inventory control procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated supervisory experience and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Labor planning and scheduling of inventory control staff.
• Coach and develop a high performing team.
• Apply root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
• Manage vendor packaging reclamation and billbacks.
• Oversee non-saleable (suspense) inventory and resolve issues.
• Review customer credit requests and drive process improvements.
• Ensure SOX controls and quarterly cycle counts.
• Lead safety and cost-focused culture in the warehouse.
• Discuss performance with Area Directors and plan improvements.
• Maintain clear communication and cohesive organization.
• Hire and develop inventory personnel; monitor performance.
• Identify and eliminate waste; improve safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate on inventory adjustments with Operations, Replenishment, Sales, and Merchandising.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
