Job summary

ChampionX in Odessa, TX is hiring an Inventory Controller to manage maintenance planning, receiving, and asset coordination at a busy yard. The role integrates with Operations, Logistics, and Asset teams to ensure timely, safe, and compliant equipment handling.

You will count assets, maintain records, supervise the yard crew when needed, and uphold continuous improvement and LEAN programs while following safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, or supply chain coordination
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask through multiple computer programs
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a team and drive operational excellence

Responsibilities

• Plan maintenance activities for a designated location.
• Plan and confirm priorities with Operations team, Inventory Control Team, Logistics team, and Asset Coordinator.
• Manage the equipment receiving process, identifying equipment on the yard and assessing against maintenance requirements.
• Create Shop Failures or Deficiency Reports for deficiencies found upon equipment arrival.
• Open repair work orders and document equipment scheduled for service.
• Organize equipment in queues by priorities (washing, test pit, bays).
• Coordinate with Stores on delivering materials to workstations and ensuring work aligns with priorities.
• Supervise the Yard Crew for washing and driving when employed.
• Assist the Logistics and Inventory Control Supervisors with asset counting and list management.
• Contribute to Health, Safety and Environment, continuous improvement and LEAN programs.
