Job summary

The Schebler Company is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to ensure accuracy of inventory records through regular cycle counts and hands-on control. You will coordinate daily with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse to keep counts accurate and documented in our systems.

Responsibilities include investigating discrepancies, maintaining ERP data accuracy, managing barcode processes, and communicating shortages to ensure material availability for customer demand.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or coursework in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse operations.
  • Manufacturing or fabrication environment experience preferred.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory control practices are followed and assist in continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for the accuracy of the company's inventory records through regular cycle counting, hands‑on inventory control, and timely resolution of discrepancies. This role works throughout the shop and warehouse and coordinates daily with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse to ensure inventory is accurately counted, documented, and maintained in our systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items throughout the production life cycle.
  • Analyze, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies. Identify problematic inventory records and transactions, ensure inventory balances are accurately maintained in all affected systems, and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Maintain the accuracy of inventory records in ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Manage inventory software and ensure the barcoding process is followed.
  • Ensure accurate and secure documentation of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages and reorder needs to Purchasing and Production so material is available to meet customer demand.
  • Compile, verify, and report monthly count results, inventory accuracy rates, and adjustment activity to management.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Production, Logistics, and Purchasing) to ensure inventory control practices are followed and assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or coursework in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field preferred.

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse operations. Manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems, barcode scanning, and handheld RF devices preferred.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Working knowledge of Excel required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities required.
Other Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to communicate information in speaking and writing so others will understand.
  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to a high noise level.
  • Must be able to routinely move throughout the shop and office area.
