Job summary

Sirna & Sons Produce, a fourth-generation family-owned wholesale distributor, seeks a Warehouse Inventory Clerk in Ravenna, OH. You will perform daily counts, monitor product quality, slot new product, and coordinate with buyers and warehouse staff to maintain accurate stock levels.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1+ year in a produce distribution or similar operation, proficiency in inventory software and Excel, and good English communication.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ year of recent experience in a significant produce distribution or processing center.
• Proficient in Inventory Management Software and Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Ability to read, speak, and write English; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and perform daily physical inventory counts.
• Assist in monitoring product quality and advise buyers and warehouse managers of deviations from standards.
• Slot new product and advise of locations.
• Work with buyers on issues regarding product quantity, quality, and usage.
• Provide inventory reports to buyers and warehouse managers.
• Manage and maintain the inventory system.
• Conduct periodic audits of physical inventory.
• Inspect inbound freight and warehoused product and document conditions.
• Ensure products are rotated properly during slot checks and communicate issues to stockers or supervisors.

We distribute our fresh arrivals 6 days a week to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, schools and institutions throughout Ohio, Central Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia. Essential Functions:

• Organize and perform daily physical inventory counts
• Assist in monitoring product quality and advise buyers & PM warehouse managers of deviations from standards
• Slot new product and advise of locations
• Work with buyers on issues regarding product quantity, quality, and usage
• Provides inventory reports to buyers, PM warehouse managers and inventory control manager
• Manages and maintains inventory system
• Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory
• Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits
• Inspect inbound freight and warehoused product, while documenting product condition
• Check produce in slots on a daily basis to make certain that the product set up for shipping meets acceptable standards
• Ensure products are rotated properly during daily slot checking, and communicate any problems with rotation to the stockers and or supervisors responsible
• Analyze, identify, and propose action to the solution of problems associated with Quality Assurance
• Take corrective actions internally to avoid future spoilage

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least 1+ years of recent and successful experience performing the above functions in a significant produce distribution or processing center, or a significant food manufacturing and distribution operation
• Proficient skills in Inventory Management Software, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems
• Experience operating forklifts and scissor lifts preferred
• Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily, bilingual a plus

Compensation:

• $20.50/hour

Schedule:

• Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Start Time: 6:00pm - finish

Physical Demands:

• Stand or walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Work in cold and wet cooler environment for extended periods of time
