Job summary

Sirna & Sons Produce is seeking a production prep-focused team member in Ravenna, OH. You will wash, trim, portion, and prepare produce per daily lists, while maintaining cleanliness and following safety protocols.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a pay rate of $18.00–$20.00 per hour. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of experience with fresh produce, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knife skills for cutting, chopping, and preparing fresh produce.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience handling fresh produce in a professional kitchen, food production, or related environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Ability to speak and write English satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, trim, cut, and portion produce items per daily prep lists and guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping of prep areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and glove-use procedures; adhere to company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Comply with applicable policies and food safety regulations.

We distribute our fresh arrivals 6 days a week to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, schools and institutions throughout Ohio, Central Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia. Essential Functions:

• Wash, peel, trim, cut, and portion produce items per daily prep lists and company guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping of prep areas, tools, and equipment
• Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper glove use, handwashing, and equipment cleaning
• Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, OSHA and Food Safety regulations

Competencies, Education, and Skills:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Speak and write English satisfactorily
• Valid identification or driver’s license (if appropriate)
• Expert-level knife skills – Proficient in safe and efficient knife handling techniques for cutting, chopping, and preparing fresh produce
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in handling and preparing fresh produce in a professional kitchen, food production, or related environment

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday (Day Shift)
• 7:00AM - 4:00PM

Pay Rate:

• $18.00 - $20.00/hour

Physical Demands:

• Stand or walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Work in cold and wet cooler environment for extended periods of time
