Job summary

White Cap is seeking an Inventory Control Associate in College Station, TX. Be part of a leading North American distributor for professional contractors and help keep inventory accurate and processes efficient.

You’ll audit daily orders, resolve discrepancies, maintain cycle counts, and collaborate with buyers on quality issues. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years’ experience, forklift certification is a plus, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in inventory control or related role.
• Experience with cycle counting or inventory reconciliation.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems (ERP/Oracle).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Audit inventory to balance systems during daily order processing.
• Research and resolve discrepancies; ensure internal control procedures.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; follow up on adjustments; review cycle counts.
• Maintain time control tables consistent with base tables and allocations.
• Receive products from vendors; check quality; communicate issues to buyers.
• Maintain quality control and inventory manuals.
• Follow company safety policy and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Typically have 2–5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Audit inventory to keep systems balanced during daily order processing.
• Research and resolve all issues, adjustments, and discrepancies; ensure compliance with established internal control procedures.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy; complete follow‑up on all previous inventory adjustments; complete and review cycle counts.
• Maintain time control tables consistent with base tables, key, and review allocations.
• Receive products from vendors to check for quality; communicate potential quality issues to buyers.
• Maintain quality control and inventory control manuals.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Follow company safety policy and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Typically have 2–5 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, auditing, or inventory reconciliation in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Proficiency using inventory management, ERP, or sales order systems (e.g., Oracle or similar software).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies accurately.
• Experience operating forklifts and other material‑handling equipment safely; certification preferred.
• Ability to analyze inventory data, maintain accurate records, and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, product tracking, and inventory movement.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across warehouse, purchasing, and operations teams.
• Knowledge of construction or industrial products is a plus; bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
