Job summary

White Cap in California is seeking a warehouse inventory specialist to record and control inventory, receive products from vendors, and run audits to ensure accuracy. You will maintain daily audit schedules, prepare inventory reports, and support cycle counts.

This role requires 2–5 years in inventory control, HS diploma, and familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle. On-site position with emphasis on safety and teamwork, collaborating with purchasing and operations to uphold inventory

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • 2–5 years in inventory control or warehouse roles.
  • Experience with inventory audits, cycles, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory systems (Oracle or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Audit inventory to balance systems during daily order processing.
  • Research and resolve inventory issues and discrepancies per procedures.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and follow up on adjustments.
  • Process vendor receipts and communicate quality issues to buyers.
  • Maintain safety and quality control manuals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for recording and maintaining control of all inventory items purchased and produced. Responsible for receiving product from vendors for quality control, maintaining the daily schedule of audits, managing inventory reports, and ensuring the overall accuracy of the warehouse inventory.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Audits inventory to keep systems in balance during daily order processing.
  • Researches and resolves all key issues, adjustments, and discrepancies, ensuring compliance with established internal control procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy, completes follow-up to all previous inventory adjustments, and reviews cycle counts.
  • Maintains time control tables consistent with base tables, keys, and reviews allocations.
  • Receives products from vendors to check for quality and communicates potential quality issues to buyers.
  • Maintains quality control and inventory control manuals.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by following safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Education And Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • Specialized skills training/certification may be required.
  • Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, auditing, or inventory reconciliation in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Proficiency using inventory management, ERP, or sales order systems (e.g., Oracle or similar software)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies accurately
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely; certification preferred
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, maintain accurate records, and support inventory accuracy initiatives
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, product tracking, and inventory movement
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across warehouse, purchasing, and operations teams
  • Knowledge of construction or industrial products is a plus; bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Pay Range

$22.00-$30.80 Hourly

California law requires the posting of the salary range for advertised jobs. This range is determined based on market data and internal pay practices to establish a minimum and maximum value for a job. Individual base pay is determined based on a variety of elements including experience, skills, internal equity and other factors.
