Job summary

FreshDirect is seeking an Inventory Control Assistant at its Bronx campus to ensure accurate inventory levels and support all inventory processes. You will perform cycle counts, maintain records, investigate discrepancies, and validate expiration dates in a fast-paced, cold environment.

You will use SAP/WMS and handheld tools, lift heavy items, and work weekends or overnight shifts as needed. Strong math, basic computer skills, and English communication are essential.

• Clear English communication; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to work in cold conditions and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to follow processes, meet deadlines, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve issues with shorted products.
• Check and document product expiration dates.
• Perform physical and systemic scrap due to expiration, quality, or damage.
• Use Warehouse Management Systems and mobile equipment as needed.
• Work in cold environments (average 38°F).
• Work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Lift 35-50 lbs continuously.
• Wear non-slip, oil-resistant footwear.
• Work weekends (Sat & Sun) and holidays.
• Work overnight or early morning shifts.

The Role: Inventory Control Assistant

The Inventory Control Assistant is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels and supporting all inventory processes, including researching discrepancies and validating expiration dates.
