The Role

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will support our fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing and distribution facility in the South Bronx by serving as a trusted advisor to frontline managers and hourly employees across plant operations, including production, sanitation, inventory control, quality assurance and maintenance. This individual will drive core HR initiatives such as employee relations, compliance, engagement, and performance management while ensuring alignment with operational goals. Spanish fluency is required for effective communication with our diverse workforce.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as one of the primary HR point of contact for Plant Operations, supporting hourly employees, supervisors, and department managers across multiple shifts.
• Partner with frontline leaders to resolve employee relations issues, provide performance coaching, and support disciplinary action in alignment with company policies and union requirements.
• Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through daily floor presence, proactive engagement, and timely issue resolution.
• Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, while offering solutions that balance compliance, operational needs, and employee experience.
• Support investigations related to workplace complaints, misconduct, or policy violations.
• Collaborate with Safety and EHS teams on incident reporting, return-to-work coordination, and workplace safety compliance.
• Partner with internal departments including Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Acquisition to manage full employee lifecycle activities (onboarding, transfers, leave management, terminations).
• Coach and develop plant managers and supervisors on effective people management and labor practices.
• Identify and implement process improvements that streamline HR operations and improve employee experience.
• Support staffing needs by partnering with recruiters.
• Actively participate in employee engagement, recognition, and training initiatives tailored to the plant environment.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience in a manufacturing, plant, warehouse, or food production environment.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required) – must be able to communicate clearly with Spanish‑speaking workforce.
• Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and labor regulations.
• Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters and investigations.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment across multiple shifts.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
• High emotional intelligence, strong problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• HR Knowledge: Solid understanding of employee relations, labor law compliance, and HR operational functions (e.g., onboarding, investigations, LOA, discipline, performance).
• Manufacturing/Plant Acumen: Familiarity with the day‑to‑day challenges and dynamics of a high‑volume production or warehouse environment.
• Language Skills: Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both languages.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain policies clearly and diplomatically.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex situations and propose effective solutions.
• Influence & Coaching: Ability to coach supervisors and frontline leaders with tact and assertiveness, gaining buy‑in for best practices.
• Conflict Resolution: Skilled at mediating and resolving disputes while maintaining a fair, balanced approach.
• Time Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple departments and shifts.
• System Proficiency: Comfortable using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); Kronos or similar timekeeping systems a plus.
• Confidentiality & Integrity: Exercises a high level of discretion in handling sensitive employee and business information.
