Job summary

The University of Oklahoma, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, seeks an Inventory Associate to support stockroom operations and materials management, ensuring faculty, staff, researchers, and students have timely access to supplies, equipment, and resources for teaching, research and lab activities.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 24 months of experience in inventory control or related fields, plus a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

Job description

Pay Range:

Targeted Salary $15.86 per hour, depending on experience

Benefits Eligible:

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Position Introduction:

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Inventory Associate to support the daily operations of its stockroom and materials management functions. This position plays a vital role in ensuring faculty, staff, researchers, and students have timely access to the supplies, equipment, and resources necessary to support teaching, research, and laboratory activities.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 24 months experience in inventory control and/or material management, procurement or closely related experience.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.
Department Preferences:
  • Experience working in a laboratory, scientific, academic, or higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and purchasing procedures.
  • Experience handling laboratory supplies, chemicals, or hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
